SRL ‘S2 Tour Series’ Schedule of Events Announced
Bakersfield, CA – The inaugural year of the SRL ‘S2 Tour Series’ is now set for the upcoming 2013 season. The SRL ‘S2 Tour Series’ championship season will consist of ten race weekends at six different race venues, featuring thirteen championship main events.
The SRL ‘S2 Tour Series’ will visit Madera Speedway on March 16th for the 2013 season opener, featuring twin main events. The series will return to Madera on June 29th and August 3rd. The SRL ‘S2 Tour Series’ will make appearances at the Irwindale Event Center on April 27th and July 20th. On the weekend of May 11th (Twin Main Events) the series will make its first of two stops at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in 2013. The series season finale will take place at The Bullring on November 16th (Twin Main Events). The SRL ‘S2 Tour Series’ will compete at Kern County Raceway Park, the new half-mile oval in Bakersfield on September 7th. Two additional 2013 dates will be held at Lucas I-10 Speedway and Havasu 95 Speedway in the months of September and October.
Introduced in 2009, the S2 car was created to allow a young driver moving up to have an opportunity to gain experience in a full-size car, at the same time allowing more experienced drivers the opportunity to compete in a more affordable race car. The concept behind the S2 car is to use the most economical parts and establish rules that keep the cost down. The idea is to offer a full size racecar with a lot of the same ideas that has made Legend cars successful nation wide.
