Colorado Represented at October Classic

The State of Colorado will be represented at the October Classic by Broomfield, CO driver Jace Hansen. The “Bulwark FR 175 presented by Coleman Powersports“, will take place on October 27 & 28 at Kern County Racewayand will pay $7,000 to the winner thanks to FLUIDYNE High Performance and AKM Maintenance.

Hansen was the Super Late Model Championship runner-up at Colorado National Speedway in 2017, and won four races during the 2016 season, finishing third. Hansen towed to Evergreen Speedway this summer and finished seventh at the SUMMER SHOWDOWN. He attended the 2018 Winter Showdown at Kern County Raceway, finishing 11th. In May, Hansen participated in the “Retro Custom Metals 150″ event at the Bullring @ Las Vegas Motor Speedway with the SPEARS Southwest Tour. Hansen drove from 14th to second, at the halfway break. After going the wrong way on an adjustment, he finished 13th in the final rundown.

The 2018 season was a light racing season for Hansen, due varying factors. But as the racing season begins to wind down, Hansen is just getting wound up.

“We had a pretty calm season this year”, Hansen told the Spears Srl Southwest Tour Series. “We ran a Modified Coupe at our local track a hand full of times, and managed to get a couple wins. We also raced the Super Late five times. With a summer full of wedding planning, and my wife and I buying our first home, I was fortunate that the guys let me have the time I needed to get through all that. Now that I have those things taken care of, we are ready to start racing again.”

Hansen would love to score the $7,000 win on Sunday afternoon, but he has additional aspirations, and expects a strong field at the October Classic.

“We, as a team, are looking to improve our finish at the Winter Showdown this winter”, Hansen began. “With that being said, I need more seat time and more laps at Kern. With several other teams having the same mind set, I’m sure the October Classic is going to be full of extremely competitive cars. So we hope to gather some good notes, that will help us bring a good piece, come the 1st of February! Kern County is an awesome facility, and racing with the great people involved with the SRL series makes it even better!”

Hansen will be bringing the black Je-co Equipment, KH Suspension, and Finish Line Automotive & Performance Chevrolet, that he brought to the 2018 Winter Showdown, to the October Classic. He hopes to bringing back a big check, to help pay for that new home.
