Looking for Redemption

Looking for Redemption

Blaine Rocha entered the 2018 Spears Srl Southwest Tour Series season as one of the favorites for the championship. The season has not gone as planned for the Oakdale, CA driver, but Rocha and the Collins Motorsports Team will be looking for redemption, when the series heads to Madera Speedway for the “SPEARS Southwest Tour 125 presented by 51 FIFTY Energy Drink” on September 29th.

Rocha has three RPM Mortgage Pro Late Model starts at Madera in 2018, with a victory and a second place finish, showing the team’s strength. He also scored a win last season, in the same series. Unfortunately, Rocha hasn’t had the same success in his “Tour” car. His first start was a top-five finish in 2014, but since then his best effort has been a ninth place outcome, with his last start resulting in a 22nd place run this past March.

“I haven’t had much luck at Madera in the “Tour” car, Rocha told the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series. Hopefully we have the bugs worked out and can have a good finish. Our cars are always good there.”

Rocha will look to return to the form that brought him a victory in 2017, and a third place finish in the SRL Championship Standings. A victory at Madera could vault the Fresno State student from 11th, to well inside the top-ten, with Kern County Raceway and the Bullring @ Las Vegas Motor Speedway closing out the season. Rocha has SPEARS Southwest Tour Series victories at both of those facilities, and would love to get the ball rolling on the 29th of September at Madera Speedway.

Rocha would like to thank MASROC Farms, Rocha’s Valley Enterprises, Masellis Drilling and Collins Motorsports for their continued support.
