Cowl Panel Rule for 2010:

 

The Cowl Panel is considered an extension of the hood and must fit the centerline template.

 

The Cowl air intake opening in the Cowl Panel must be 2 1⁄2 inches by 20 inches to allow fresh air to the carburetor. 

 

The back edge of the Cowl air intake opening must be; no closer than ½ inch, or no further than 1 inch, from the base of the windshield.

 

Windshield may not be cut in anyway from manufacturer.

 

A fresh air deflector will be permitted directly under the cowl air opening in the cowl panel.  The deflector must measure a maximum of two inches down and maximum two inches forward, by 20 inches in width.

 

No bowed hoods. Minimum air gap between the hood and the Cowl Panel, subject to tech approval.

 

 

 

The ABC Cowl Panel will be mandatory in 2011.

 

Only ABC approved Cowl Panels manufactured by ABC approved manufacturers containing visible ABC labels will be allowed for competition in 2011.
