GOMEZ JOINS BSR FOR THE
2010 SPEARS SRL SOUTHWEST TOUR
Modesto, CA -- Twin Falls, Idaho's Jonathon Gomez will drive for Bob Strandwold Racing in the 2010 SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series. The 27-year-old Gomez plans to compete full-time in both the NASCAR K&N Pro Series and the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series in 2010. Gomez will also make selected starts in the Camping World Truck Series and ARCA RE/MAX Series. The former champion at Magic Valley Speedway will be starting his fourth year in racing.
"I am very pleased to have Jonathon and his father John as being part of our racing program in 2010." stated Bob Strandwold, who won the 2007 SRL championship as a car owner with driver Dave Byrd. "Craig (Raudman) told me several times last year, that he felt Jonathon has the ability to get the job done. I knew I wanted to get him in one of our cars and run for the 2010 SRL title.” added Strandwold.
Gomez will carry his familiar number 22 on the number 3 BSR entry that was driven by Troy Ermish to a win and a track record in the SRL in 2009. Crew chief of the #22 BSR Chevrolet for 2010 will be Ron Copeland and the team will be sponsored by; United Oil Co., Heritage Cattle Company, Century Boatland, J&C Custom Harvesting and Gomez Farms.
Gomez will pull double duty at the SRL and K&N Pro Series season openers March 27th at Roseville’s All-American Speedway.
