Feb 15, 2010 - UPDATE and INFORMATION: 2/15/10
UPDATE and INFORMATION: 2/15/10
Fuel Policy
SUNOCO 110 Purple is the ‘Spec Fuel’ of the SRL for 2010. It is mandatory to compete using only SUNOCO 110 Purple - No other racing fuels and/or additives will be allowed. Traces of other fuel in a cars system may cause failure of fuel test in tech inspection. It is the race teams responsibility to insure you have a sufficient supply of SUNOCO 110 Purple for the race weekend. Some SRL host tracks carry limited supplies of the SUNOCO 110, while others carry none all. For Roseville, we highly recommend that you bring your own supply or contact the tracks fuel vendor at 916-914-1284 (ask for Bill) and pre-order for the weekend.
Tire Policy
Qualifying tires are not released until designated time after final practice.
When tires are released they must remain outside of trailers in plain sight of SRL officials or they may be impounded at the discretion of the officials.
Only tires with current event marking will be allowed for qualifying. Race must be started on the qualifying tires.
NO PERFORMANCE OR APPEARANCE ENHANCING PRODUCTS ALLOWED INSIDE OR OUTSIDE OF TIRES. Tires can be checked at any time before or after the race and violations can result in confiscation and/or drivers disqualification at official’s discretion.
Tires cannot be over posted pressures when going thru tech:
RIGHT 28
LEFT 22
Pressures can be reset after clearing tech.
Any tire changed during race for pressure, damage or safety reasons must be approved by an SRL official, and must be the same type and compound it is replacing. Penalty for unapproved changes.
Cars that transfer from a qualifying race to the “A” main have the option of buying up to two new tires for the “A” main. These tires must be marked with the current event marking.
Roseville Sound Limits – Very Strict
County mandate: Cars cannot exceed the maximum sound level of 90 DBA at 100 feet. Sound level measured and enforced by Placier County. Any cars exceeding the maximum sound level at anytime will be black flagged by the county and must take corrective action before they will be allowed on track. Placier County is Very Strict!!!! And 90 db is very quiet. Please be prepared – it is a long frustrating day if your car is too loud.
Engine and Carburetor Tech
Each car must have its engine and carburetor tech inspected and have a 2009 or 2010 SRL ‘inspection seal’ in place before competing. Please notify the SRL office prior to the Roseville event if your car needs to be inspected at Roseville. Inspections will take place on both Friday and Saturday, before the engine is fired. Each car must have the right front stud drilled for the carburetor and manifold for seal placement.
Tech Inspection for 2010
Numerous items will be inspected in 2010 that may not have been inspected in the past. The SRL’s approach to tech inspection is not to try to catch anyone whose car is not in compliance, but to enforce the rulebook so all competitors know the playing field is level. If a car is not in compliance, penalties will be applied; the severity will depend on the infraction.
NOTE: The 2010 SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series Rulebook, the 9.0 ABC Rulebook and the 2006 NASCAR Elite Division Southwest Series Rulebook will all be utilized. How the SRL officials interpret each of these rulebooks is the final decision.
Rulebook Updates
The 2010 SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series rulebook will get periodic updates and revisions. It is each teams responsibility to check the 2010 rulebook for updates.
Contingency Decals and Name on Rocker Panel
The driver’s name on each rocker and all SRL contingency decals must be in proper placement to be eligible for points and prize money. NOTE: Leave space on b-pillar for three series decals.
Tech Line Policies
Once the designated start time of tech line inspections open (pre-qualifying & pre-race), all cars must be on the ground, discontinue any work and must start to proceed to their designate spot in the tech line (order based on qualifying draw or starting position). Penalties applicable.
