Bakersfield,
CA -- K&N Engineering and the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series have formed
an innovative partnership for the remainder of the 2010 race season.
“We’re
truly elated to have a company like K&N come on board to be part of the
SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series,” stated the SRL’s Brian Olsen.“It’s a great compliment to the race
teams of the SRL to have a company like K&N step up to be associated and
support our series, it says so much about the quality and professionalism of
the series.”
K&N, the inventor and leading innovator of
reusable cotton gauze filter technology, will become the “Official Filter of the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour
Series”, with all SRL teams using K&N Air Filters for the remainder of the
2010 season.
K&N will provide air and
oil filters to all SRL teams this weekend at Stockton 99 Speedway, and will
provide an additional product bonus package to all teams that have competed in
each SRL race so far in 2010.
Additionally, K&N will
be the presenting sponsor of the SRL “GoLiveStream.TV Season Finale” at the
Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, which will include the K&N “Power
Bonus”. The K&N “Power Bonus” will be added to the winner’s share of the
prize money for the October 30th series finale, increasing the
winner’s payout to $6,000 at the Bullring event.
Finally, K&N will
introduce an innovative new program to spotlight the depth of the young talent
pool of the SRL with the “K&N FILTERS Young Guns Championship” as part of
the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series.
“Whenever possible we like
to be involved with the youth of motorsports, and this is a great opportunity
to do so,” stated K&N’s Tony Yorkman. “As tough as the competition is in the SPEARS SRL Southwest
Tour Series, we wanted to be sure to draw attention to the talents’ of the
younger drivers who have dared to enter this competitive series.”
The “K&N FILTERS Young Guns
Championship” is a separate points championship within the SRL for drivers 23
years and younger. These young drivers will accumulate points beginning with
the June 12th event at Stockton 99 Speedway through the SRL’s season
finale at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.The “K&N FILTERS Young Guns Champion” will receive the
winner’s share of a special point fund presented by K&N.
K&N will also offer each host racetrack of the
SRL, K&N merchandise giveaways for their race fans.

The SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series will be in
action this Saturday night at Stockton 99 Speedway, in the “Mid Valley Iron and
Metals 130”.
