Jul 07, 2010 - KYLE CATTANACH SIGNS WITH BAMMER

 
IRVINE, CALIFORNIA (July 7, 2010) – Kyle Cattanach will bring his fifth place standing in the SRL SPEARS Southwest Tour to Bammer Motorsports for the remaining 2010 season, it was announced on Friday.
 
Cattanach will pilot the #88 Superior Crankshaft Chevrolet for car owner Quentin Bammer over the final five races of the tour.  He is just 93 points out of first place in the championship standings.
 
The 25 year-old driver from Redding, Calif. debuted with the team at Madera.  After qualifying third, Cattanach put together a solid eighth place effort.
 
Mark Lundgreen will crew chief the entry, at Toyota Speedway in Irwindale, Calif. on July 17.
 
“It is clear that Quentin has a deep passion for motorsports,” Superior Crankshaft CEO Cheryl Archer said.  “Our goal for the rest of the year is to build the relationship with Bammer Motorsports and continue to get Kyle comfortable in the car.”
 
Superior Crankshaft entered grassroots motorsports in 2010 and has finished in the top-ten in four of the five races during their SRL campaign.
 
“Our program is building in all aspects and we are used to challenges in the racing industry,” Motorsports Marketing Manager Marty Melo said.  “Getting the right people around us is very important and we feel we are heading in the right direction which has us confident heading into Irwindale.”
 
Toyota Speedway at Irwindale serves as the home track or Superior Crankshaft which is located just south of the speedway in Irvine, Calif.  More than 30 employees, along with their guests and potential sponsors, will be in attendance.
 
“This year has turned into a great opportunity to give back to the sport and provide driver development for Kyle,” Archer said.
 
Cattanach last competed at Irwindale in 2005 in the ASA TRUCK SERIES, amassing top-ten finishes in all three starts there.
 
The “SPEARS Manufacturing 100” will include practice on Friday with the feature on Saturday.  Another solid entry list of 30 or more cars is expected.
