NTS Motorsports Re-Signs Voigt for 2014

KERNERSVILLE, NC (December 18, 2013) NTS Motorsports announced today that Southwest Tour Series veteran Greg Voigt will return as the driver of the NTS Motorsports #29 SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series entry for 2014.

“Last year we were late signing Greg to drive for us,” stated NTS Motorsports owner Bob Newberry.  “We finalized the deal a couple days before the season opener, and that had us behind for awhile. The team showed some real strength late in the season, especially our big win at Pikes Peak (International Raceway), we have good momentum for the start of the 2014 season.”

Voigt placed sixth in the 2014 SPEARS Southwest Tour Series championship, with one win and five top 10’s.  Voigt, a veteran of the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series, with 46 career starts, finished third in the 2008 SPEARS Southwest Tour championship, then second in 2009.

“We had a great second half of the season,” said Voigt.  “I’ve run my own cars for so many years, it took me awhile to adjust and effectively communicate with the team about the car.  But as the season went on, Gary (Collins – crew chief) and I started working better together and our performance improved.  It’s a privilege to drive for this NTS team, it’s first class.”

From their Bakersfield shop, NTS will field the #29 full-time with Voigt, with the prospect of running a second SPEARS Southwest Tour Series car and a K&N West team in 2014.  In addition to their west coast operations, Newberry and his NTS Motorsports team will field two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series teams, as well as two full-time K&N East teams from their 70,000 square foot Kernersville facility.

Voigt and NTS Motorsports will start their 2014 SPEARS Southwest Tour season on Saturday, March 15th at the series opener at Madera Speedway.
