ROCHA LOOKING TO SWEEP
Blaine Rocha will be looking to sweep the 2017 Kern County Raceway, Spears Srl Southwest TourSeries events, when the SRL visits the facility this weekend, for the Bulwark Protective Apparel / Timberland Pro 101 presented by 51 FIFTY Energy Drink. Rocha emerged victorious, on April 22, after a late race duel between Derek Thorn and Christian McGhee resulted in both being eliminated from victory contention. Rocha was able to hold off Ricky Schlick, and Bobby Hodgesover the last nine laps, to secure the win and the $5,000 payday.
Rocha brings his Masroc Farms, Collins Motorsports Chevrolet to Kern County Raceway, fourth, in the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Championship standings. He trails Craig Raudmanby a mere two points, as the series will head next to the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, where he is the defending winner. A $5,000 win on Saturday, boosted by the FLUIDYNE High Performance Winner’s Bonus, could go a long way to closing the championship gap on Thorn and Schlick.
Rocha will be one of the SRL’s highlighted drivers, for this weekend’s event. Catch his driver profile, featured in Kern County Raceway’s souvenir program. Select programs will be autographed, for a chance at winning autographed apparel. Front gates open at 4:30 pm for the nights festivities with qualifying for the SRL at 5:00 pm. There will be a “Trick or Treat” autograph session at 6:00 pm with Opening Ceremonies scheduled for 6:50 pm.
