About Our Chaplains
It is our mission to introduce to the racing community a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, to grow in His Christ-likeness, and to become actively involved in the church. This is accomplished through relationships that provide care in times of stress, discussion of our faith, and knowledge of God’s word.
I have enjoyed auto racing as long as I have been linked with Norm. He introduced me to racing at Lions Drag Strip and Ascot Race track while we dated. After marriage he introduced me to NASCAR, Indy cars and grand prix racing. When he started looking into the chaplain program I had no thought of joining him. When he asked me join him it was a new thought. I had never seen myself any place other than in a church building. Stepping into the SRL world knowing It was where God wanted me to be and “prepared”. Each season means meeting new people, new opportunities and new excitement. I truly love the race, watching the new “young guns” and the ones who are getting to live their dream.
I have known and enjoyed motor racing ever since I can recall going to Ascot, Saugus, and Riverside tracks in Southern California with my father. It is the roar of the engines, the thrill of completion, and the unknown outcome that keeps me coming back as often as I can. At the same time I have a calling to establish personal relationships whenever I can to assist those in need of a friend and comforter. Whether it’s on the track, in the pits, at a hospital, or over a cup of coffee, my goal is to be there for the racing community. Being a member of Motor Racing Outreach (MRO) and serving as a race chaplain since 2005 has fulfilled these desires.
