SPEARS Southwest Tour Series Travels North to Redwood Acres Raceway

Bakersfield, CA – This weekend the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series will make the trip up the California coast to Redwood Acres Raceway in Eureka, California for the fifth race of the 2015 championship season. It will be just the second time the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series has competed at “The Acres” following its inaugural race there in 2013.

“It’s a great place to race,” stated the SRL’s Larry Collins. “It’s your classic fair grounds track with a lot of history. In 2013, we had a great race in front of a packed house, so we’re looking forward to another great event this weekend.”

The 3/8-mile oval, located at the Redwood Acres Fairgrounds was built in 1947 as a dirt track before being paved in 1987.

“The average temperature throughout the summer months in Eureka is just under 70 degrees, so it’s a nice break from the summer heat for our teams.” Collins added.

There will be an open test session for the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series on Friday from 4:30pm to 7:30pm, followed by a barbecue for the teams.

Saturday will feature a full line up of racing with Thunder Rosters, Bombers, Mini Stocks, Roadrunners and the headlining 125-lap SPEARS Southwest Tour Series event. Grandstands open at 4:30pm, SPEARS Southwest Tour Series qualifying at 6pm, followed by a complete night of racing.
