Toby Becker looks to the Bullring and Beyond for the SRL

Toby Becker made the move from Highland, CA to Wenatchee, WA with his family, but the 20 year old college student will be making the 1,040 mile trek to The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the “Retro Custom Metals 150 presented by Pinnacle Peak Steakhouse of San Dimas”. The Spears SRL Southwest Tour Series finale will be Becker’s first series start, after a limited 2016 Northwest Challenge Series schedule.

“I am so excited for the opportunity to run the final SRL Racing event in Las Vegas this month”, Becker told the SRL. “This past season has been quite a big change for both my team and I. Having only competed in 3 events in the Northwest Super Late Model Series, my team and I decided that it was time to start thinking “big picture” in my career. So with that mindset I took the remainder of the season off from racing, to start focusing on the marketing side of the sport. After months of training with one of the best marketing and media coaches in the country, it is finally time to get back behind the wheel.

During the 2015 and 2016 season, Toby had the opportunity to work on the crew, and in the race headquarters, of Northwest Super Late Model legend Garrett Evans. It was an experience that supplemented his already rich racing history, as a third generation driver.

Toby is the son of Randy Becker and grandson of Chuck “Pappy” Becker. Randy is a well-known Southern California racer, who captured over 100 career victories. His career included starts in the NASCAR Winston (now K & N) West and Southwest Tour Series as well as being one of the legendary drivers at Orange Show Speedway. Toby will have the opportunity to follow his father’s footsteps with his first Spears SRL Southwest Tour Series start.

“There are many reasons why we have come to the SRL”, Toby began. “As a third generation racecar driver, I strive to become the best, and to be the best, you have to run with the best. It is no secret, that some of the best drivers and competition in the country, come from the SRL Southwest Tour Series, and being a touring division you really do have to be a highly skilled racecar driver.

Becker’s journey will begin at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on November 19th, but he is already looking ahead to his future with the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series.

“With plans in place, to assemble a top-notch team and a race winning Super Late Model, Toby Becker Racing is proud to announce that we will be competing in the full 2017 SRL Southwest Tour season, in addition to the 2016 season finale”, Becker announced. Thank you to everyone who has supported me since day one in my career, and I look forward to the journey ahead with all of you.”

That journey hits the pavement, against a full field of Tour and Super Late Model drivers on the 19th of November. Come out and watch Toby, along with the other stars of the “Tour”, compete for the $10,000 first place prize in what promises to be the strongest field of the season.
