BODY RECOMMENDATIONS and REQUIREMENTS FOR PPIR:
Recommendations:
• Support the hood from the center – important to keep the pressure off the cold air box, which could lead to the throttle sticking.
• Be sure the hood is securely taped down, or an eyebrow on the leading edge of the hood is utilized.
• Utilize something stronger and larger in diameter than a pop rivet to hold the fender and rocker panel in place behind the front tires, as the pressure from under the car may rip this area by pushing outward.
• Reinforce under the deck lid and rear window with vertical support braces.
• Any extra support to keep the body from flexing or vibrating is recommended.
• Bodies have been known to blow completely off when at speed at PPIR.

Requirements:
Must meet ABC and SRL Standards, plus:
• Rear spoiler must measure 6-1/2 inches in height and 60-inches in total length, with a minimum angle of 70 degrees. Must be rigid with rear supports.
• No holes in the body to exhaust air.
• ROOF RAILS – a strip of aluminum angle, a minimum ½ inch high and a maximum 3/4-inch high must be attached to the entire length of the roof (from windshield to rear window) on each side of the roof close to the outside edge of the roof. The roof rail must be mounted parallel with the car, and aligned vertically.
A third air deflector must also be installed on the rear window, a minimum of 1 ½ inches high, and a maximum 1 ¾ inches high mounted parallel with the centerline of the car. This deflector must be in line with the left side roof rail and extend the full length of the rear window.
