KERNERSVILLE, NC (April 11, 2013) Southwest Tour Series veteran Greg Voigt posted a sixth place finish at Stockton 99 Speedway behind the wheel of the NTS Motorsports #29 Chevrolet in Saturday’s SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series “Strandwold Brother 125”.

Voigt of Goleta, CA, a former SPEARS Southwest Tour Series winner at Stockton 99 Speedway, started from the pole after qualifying sixth in the twenty-three-car field.  Voigt led the first 28 laps of the 125-lap event, before giving up to the lead to eventual winner Derek Thorn.

“We made some big improvements to the car since the opener at Madera,” Voigt commented.  “Gary (Collins) and all the guys on the team want to win races, so they’re putting in a big effort to give me the best car possible.  We had the speed in the car, now we’ll work to make it better at the end of the race.”

With the sixth place finish Saturday, Voigt and the NTS Motorsports team will enter the next SPEARS Southwest Tour Series event at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in sixth position in the championship standings.

“I’ve been racing for a longtime, but have always drove and worked on my own cars, so this has been really different driving for another team, but it’s a good different.  I really appreciate Bob Newberry and Gary Collins for giving me this opportunity to drive for this team, it’s a first class deal.”

For 2013, NTS Motorsports fields two full-time NASCAR Camping World Truck Series teams for Brennan Newberry and Ron Hornaday, Jr. out of the team’s 70,000 square foot Kernersville facility.  From their Bakersfield, CA shop, NTS fields a full-time K&N Pro Series team for rookie, Dallas Montes, in addition to the full-time effort in the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series.

Voigt and NTS Motorsports will be at Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the “GoLiveStream.TV 121” on May 11th on the 3/8’s mile Bullring.
