Winter Showdown Helpful Information: 1/14/17

 

 

KICK OFF PARTY: On Thursday evening of race week, the Winter Showdown Kick Off Party will get started at Buck Owens Crystal Palace at 7pm. Buck’s Crystal Palace is a must see while in Bakersfield, and the night will feature the honoring of the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series Top 10 of 2016.

 

OPEN TEST DAYS: Kern County Raceway will host three open test days, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, February 5, 6, and 7. Registration will open at 9am, and the track will be hot from 11am to 5pm. $200 per car, per day. No pit pass fee, but all team members must sign in. Please contact the track at 661-835-1264 to sign up for the open test days. Private test days are also available.

 

FUEL: SUNOCO 110 Standard is the Spec Fuel of the Winter Showdown. Fuel will be available at the event, but reserving a drum for your team in advance is highly recommended. Simply respond to this email to reserve your drum of SUNOCO 110.

 

TIRES: Winter Showdown tires are now available from Hoosier Tire West at 559-485-4612. F45 (lefts) and F55 (rights). Reserve your tires by contacting Hoosier Tire West and they will have your tires stacked and waiting for you upon arriving at the track on race week, or can drop ship your practice tires to you. Hoosier Tire West will be at the open test days on Monday and Tuesday of race week. Remember, your designated qualifying and race tires must remain in the Hoosier Compound until released by officials.

 

CONTROLLED PIT STOPS: This year’s Winter Showdown 250 will feature “Controlled Pit Stops”, which means teams can pit during any caution period during the race, have as many as four laps to service their car without losing any laps, and no car will lose positions in regards to other cars that pitted during the same controlled caution period.

 

COORS LIGHT / SPEED51 BONUS: Each driver that makes the 36 car starting field for the Winter Showdown may receive a minimum payout of $3,000, thanks to the Coors Light / Speed51.com b onus. To be eligible, each car will be required to display a Coors Light decal, or 21 Means 21, on the lower part of the hood and the lower quarter panel areas.

 

MAVTV: MAVTV and Lucas Oil Productions will be on hand once again to nationally televise both the Lucas Oil Modifieds “Spray Nine 50” and the Super Late Model Spears Manufacturing “Winter Showdown 250”.

 

EVENT TICKETS: Winter Showdown event tickets are now available at www.KernRaceway.com.

 

SUITES AVAILABLE: There are a limited number of suites available for the Winter Showdown. If you are interested in renting a suite for the event, please contact the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series office at 661-679-4681.

 

RV INFO: Trackside and General RV parking is available all Winter Showdown weekend; contact Kern County Raceway at 661-835-1264 for details.

 

SPEED51.COM: Speed51 will bring their staff to the Winter Showdown to provide in-depth coverage throughout the week, including a Live Pay Per View.

 

RACETRACK POLICIES: A few Kern County Raceway policies to know:

  • No golf carts, quads or any type of motorized scooter, etc. allowed on the raceway grounds – includes pits, parking lots and RV areas.
  • Minors release form mandatory for anyone under the age of 18 in the infield pit area.
  • No minimum age limit in the infield pit area. An adult must accompany minors at all times.
  • No BBQ’s or open flame allowed in Pit Area.
  • Spotters in specified location at all times car is on track, monitoring race control at 0125.

 

PIT PASS PRICING: Pit Pass pricing for the Winter Showdown:

  • 4-Day Pass: Wednesday – Saturday $100
  • 2-Day Pass: Friday – Saturday $ 80
  • Friday Only $ 40
  • Saturday Only             $ 55
