WINTER SHOWDOWN UPDATE: January 5, 2015

Pricing (based on 5 hours of testing time) $2500 up to 5 cars

Lead-time on track rental is a minimum of 7 calendar days.

Side Note – The track has discussed one or more open test days close to event time, but we have not heard a final decision, once we do, we will forward you the details.

 

There are currently no Winter Showdown regulations regarding testing.

 

RULE REVISION and CLARIFICATION:

 

FUEL CELL REINFORCEMENT PLATE: A reinforcement plate of not less than 14 gauge (.078 inch thick) magnetic steel flat plate must be installed in front of the fuel cell container. The plate must extend the entire height and width of the full cell container and be securely welded in place or bolted (min. 3/8 diameter bolts) with two (2) bolts on each side. A similar plate at the rear of the fuel cell is highly recommended.

  1. IGNITION BOX and WIRING: For all cars – all ignition boxes must be mounted as far to the right and forward as possible inside the car, with all wires in plain view and out of reach of the driver. All wires to the distributor must be run separately and not part of a bigger loom or wiring harness. All wiring must be sealed. No unplugged wiring.

 

  1. “SEALED ENGINES”: All cars using the approved McGunegill, Hamner, Progressive or SSPE “Sealed Engines” must only use the following ignition system: Crane Cams Ignition part# 6000-6700 (HI-6RC) and a Coil part# 730-0192 (PS92N), mounted on a tray as from Crane Cams, as far to the right and forward as possible inside the car. RPM dial positioned facing right side of car.

 

  1. ROCKER PANELS: The use of factory (ARP & Five Star) rocker panels will be mandatory at the Winter Showdown. All rocker panels may only be one solid piece. Rocker panels must be mounted in a single plane from the front to rear and top to bottom.

 

  1. NOSE: When trimming the nose flap, be sure the cut that forms the front of the wheel opening must be 90 degrees to the ground (as per page 7 of the ABC rule book states).

 

 

Before the event, you will be forwarded detailed information regarding tech procedures and race procedures for the race weekend.
