Jason Gilbert will be making his first Spears Srl Southwest Tour start since 2016, when the series visits the Irwindale Event Center on June 9th, for the “SPEARS Manufacturing 100 presented by Coleman Powersports“. Gilbert is a veteran of the series, with 45 career starts, finishing fourth in the series standings in 2012 and 2013. Gilbert has 12 top-five and 24 top-10 finishes in those 45 starts.

The two-time Altamont Motorsports Park Late Model, and 2008 NASCAR State of California Champion is planning a Summer assault on the Tour, and hopes to participate in the next four events on the schedule. The commencement of the assault, will be at a track at which Gilbert has had some success. In five career SRL starts at Irwindale, Gilbert has two top-five and three top-ten finishes, including a career best runner-up finish in 2010. With $5,000 going to the winner of the event, thanks to the Winner’s Bonus from Performance Friction Brakes, Gilbert will gunning for his first SRL victory in his HUR Performance Engines, Gilbert Racing Chevrolet.
