Bakersfield, CA – Andy Allen is headed to his home track on July 17th for the “SaltedMetals100 presented by Pinnacle Peak Steakhouse”. The $10,000-to-win event is Round #7 for the Spears Srl Southwest Tour Series season, and will be the final appearance for the series at Irwindale Speedway in 2021. Allen is a former Super Late Model winner at the facility and has multiple ASA Truck Series victories as well. The Garden Grove, CA driver enters the event 11th in the championship standings, after finishing 10th in 2020’s campaign.

Allen has seen steady improvement in 2021. He will be making his 28th career start in the series and has been creeping closer to his first top-10 finish. His last appearance at Irwindale netted the veteran racer a 12th-place finish in the 29-car field. His last two starts have seen Allen finish 11th at ALL AMERICAN SPEEDWAY – ROSEVILLE CA and 13th at Kern County Raceway Park in the 24-car field. At Irwindale, he has six career SRL starts and is averaging a 20th place finish, with his best just last April in 12th. Allen would love to pick up his third top-10 qualifying effort, in his RJ Allen Inc. Super Late Model, and follow it up with his first career top-10. Irwindale Speedway would be the perfect place to pull it off, in front of his family and friends.

The “Salted Metals 100 presented by Pinnacle Peak Steakhouse” will see the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series visit Irwindale Speedway for the 21st-time its history. $10,000 will be on the line for the winner, thanks to Salted Metals and David Mulcahy.
