BIG EVENT FOR ALLEN

BIG EVENT FOR ALLEN

Irwindale Speedway Super Late Model winner Andy Allen will make his first Spears Srl Southwest Tour Series presented by Lucas Oil start, at his home track on March 23rd. Allen’s sixth career start in the series will come in the “RJ Allen Inc. 100 presented by Traffic Management, Inc.”.

Allen’s family construction business will serve as the title sponsor of the event. It gives Andy a chance to entertain some of his supporters and as well as bringing excitement to Irwindale.

“We sponsored this race because I have a lot of supporters that are going to be attending the race and I wanted to bring back excitement to my home track”, Allen told the Spears Srl Southwest Tour Series.

Allen has raced infrequently since 2010, making four starts in the SRL from 2012 to 2014. The three-time ASA Truck Series winner returned to racing at Kern County Raceway for the SRL’s 2018 October Classic. He finished 15th in that return, completing all but one lap. He also participated in this year’s $30,000-to-win Spears Manufacturing Winter Showdown 300″. Allen finished 21st, after being involved in the “Big One”, big gained valuable experience.

The Garden Grove, CA driver is looking forward to returning to his home track in Irwindale, but he has concerns about not having participated there for some time.

“I am excited about being back at my home track, but I’m a little nervous about not being on the track for a long time.”

In Allen’s return to Irwindale, he will compete in twin 50 laps features, which will give him a chance to make adjustments to the car between events. The overall winner will be the driver with the lowest combined finish total, encompassing both features. It is an unusual format for the series, but should lead to some exciting racing.

Allen’s effort is sponsored by his families business, R.J. Allen Inc., but there are others that he would like to thank, headed into the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series 19th season opener.

“I would like to thank my race crew and CP Motorsports, for putting together an awesome car”, Allen began. “Also, Hard Yoga and Saje for keeping me healthy. I have to thank my friends and family for coming out to support me as well as my kids for being my number one fans.”
