BIG SECOND HALF OF 2014 SET FOR SPEARS SOUTHWEST TOUR

 

Bakersfield, CA — The biggest and richest events in SPEARS Southwest Tour Series history are set for the second half of the 2014 season.   These upcoming big events include the series return to, Irwindale Speedway, the one-mile Pikes Peak International Raceway, Kern County Raceway Park and The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

 

The August 16th Irwindale event will be nationally televised on MAVTV, and will be the first race of the 2014 “Pat Pettit Memorial Triple Crown”, paying $5,003 to the winner. The “51 FIFTY Energy Drink 100 presented by AmeriPride Services” will be the first SPEARS Southwest Tour Series appearance at Irwindale Speedway since 2010.

 

On September 28th, the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series will return to the one-mile oval at Pikes Peak International Raceway in Fountain, Colorado, just outside of Colorado Springs.   The 100 lap “Spears Manufacturing Colorado 100” is the second race of the “Pat Pettit Memorial Triple Crown” and will feature a record $15,003 payday to the winner, with a minimum payout of $2,500 to any team in the top 20 in the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series championship standings.   The “Colorado 100” brings together the top teams of the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series up against the best drivers and teams from Colorado National Speedway and the surrounding areas.

 

Following the Colorado event, the series returns to the ½ mile Kern County Raceway Park in Bakersfield on November 1st, for final race of the “Pat Pettit Memorial Triple Crown”. The event will pay $10,003 to the race winner, and will award the driver with the best overall points total from the “Triple Crown” a $1,003 bonus.

 

The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway will once again host the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series season finale, which will take place on November 22nd. The championship finale will also be nationally televised by MAVTV.

 

Next race for the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series will take place at the historic Stockton 99 Speedway on Saturday, July 26th.
