Bischofberger Finds New Speed with New Dealadmin
Bakersfield, CA – Jeff Bischofberger has stepped up his racing program in a big way in 2015. After two abbreviated SPEARS Southwest Tour Series seasons with his own team, Bischofberger has teamed up with Mike Doss at Nitro Racing from Upper Lake, California for 2015.
A graduate from the Speed Truck Series, Bischofberger pursued a greater challenge and moved to the SPEARS Southwest Tour in 2013. After bringing a brand new car and high hopes into 2014, Bischofberger and his team soon realized how tough the competition was in the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series.
“We knew it was going to be a challenge to compete in the series, and we were ready to accept that challenge, but what we found was frustration.” stated Bischofberger. “We wanted to do it right, we built a new car, new engine and hoped to have all the tools we needed.”
In seven starts in 2014, the best Bischofberger finished was 10th.
“Towards the end of last season, we were ready to hang it up, we put so much into it and it was a lot of disappointing weekends.” Bischofberger added.
For 2015, Bischofberger will be driving the car that Jeremy Doss has driven to two consecutive SPEARS Southwest Tour Series championship runner-up positions.
“This sport and this series is tough, and it feels so good to get in the car and show some speed and feel like you can compete,” stated Bischofberger after the 2015 season opener at Madera. “We ended up on the top of the board at the end of the day on Friday (practice) at Madera, which doesn’t pay anything, but it was a big boost for us.”
On race day at Madera, Bischofberger qualified the Nitro Racing #66 in third position, behind series standouts Derek Thorn and Jim Pettit II, then drove to a career high seventh place finish.
“Madera was awesome, we felt competitive and are really looking forward to the upcoming race at Kern and the rest of the season.” Bischofberger concluded.
The next raced for the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series is the “DC’s RV Center 100 presented by RacingForWishes.com”, this Saturday, April 18th at Kern County Raceway Park in Bakersfield, California. For more information go to www.SRLSouthwestTour.com or www.KernRaceway.com.
