Bakersfield, CA (January 12, 2024) – The 2024 ‘SPEARS SRL National Super Late Model Tour’ championship ranking will again be based on total money won during the 2024 season.

“With the trend of points systems today becoming more complicated, we wanted a system that was simple to understand,” stated the SRL’s Ricky Brooks. “We also wanted a system that allowed a driver to miss races, but still have a shot at the title.”

Senoia, Georgia’s Bubba Pollard scored the 2023 SPEARS SRL National Super Late Model Tour championship by winning three events even though he missed the season finale “Noland’s Roofing Bill Bigley Sr. Memorial 128”. Pollard won $25,000 at the “Rattler” at South Alabama Speedway, $15,000 at the “Davidson Electric 125” at Mobile, and $30,000 at the “Battle at Berlin”.

“Our marque events pay more money, which typically draws more teams, so drivers are rewarded accordingly at those bigger events,” added Brooks. “Thanks to our sponsors and host race tracks we paid out over $500,000 in prize money in 2023, in seven events, we will exceed that number in 2024 with ten championship events on the schedule.”

The SPEARS SRL National Super Late Model Tour kicks off 2024 with two $25,000 to win events, the February 3rd All-Star Showdown at Irwindale Speedway, and the 48th annual Rattler at South Alabama Speedway on March 17th.
