Chris Davidson Heads West for the Spears Manufacturing 100 presented by Pinnacle Peak Steakhouse

 
Bakersfield, CA – With Chris Davidson’s home in Friendswood, TX, the two-time and defending Allen Turner Pro Late Model Series champion, at 5 Flags Speedway, is used to travelling long distances for each and every event he attends. Davidson will be making the long trip to Irwindale Speedway for the “Spears Manufacturing 100 presented by Pinnacle Peak Steakhouse San Dimas” on May 21. It will be his second Spears SRL Southwest Tour Series start of 2022, after participating in the “All-Star Showdown 200” to open the season. He finished 11th in that start.
The veteran racer is a two-time USRA Champion with 18 triumphs in 82 career starts. In the Southern Super Series, he was the 2016 championship runner-up. He has a win in the “Texas Big Shot 250” in a 39-car field at the now defunct Central Texas Speedway (TX). In the Summer Showdown at Evergreen Speedway (WA), he has a best finish of second in four starts, to go along with a third-place run. He was the championship runner-up in the Viper Pro Late Model Series earning a win at South Alabama Speedway (AL). For Davidson, this will be his fourth start in the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour, where he will be looking for his first series victory.

The “Spears Manufacturing 100 presented by Pinnacle Peak Steakhouse” will take place on May 21st. It will pay $6,000 to the winner, thanks to the $1,000 “Winner’s Bonus” from Loyd Mcghee and J&M Racing. It will also pay $500 to the Fast Qualifier and another $500 to the leader at lap 17. Each of those bonuses are donated in honor of Michael Atkinson (AKA Mike A) who passed away on February 11, 2021. Michael served at Irwindale Speedway since its’ opening in 1999 and was the Race Director at the time of his passing.
Celebrating its twenty-second season in 2022, the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series is a regional stock car series competing on paved ovals in the southwestern portion of the U.S. “The SPEARS Southwest Tour Series…Where the Champions Race”.
