Congratulations to Championship Leader Jeremy Doss

Congratulations to Spears Srl Southwest Tour Series Championship leader Jeremy Doss, for his victory in last nights “Senator’s Cup Fall Classic 150”, from the Bullring @ Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It was Doss’ second victory in the prestigious event, and was sweet redemption from last year’s last lap loss to Derek Thorn, as he passed Gracin Dean Raz to score the rich $15,000 win on lap 149.

The win was Jeremy’s third straight, and fifth in his last six starts at the Bullring. The victory did not come easy, however, after having a rear end go out, after Thursday’s practice session. The JD Motorsports crew went to work, and got the Brannon EarnestPerformance, Performance Friction Brakes, Senneker PerformanceFord ready for qualifying on Friday, and the 150 lap feature on Saturday. The same issue popped up late in the feature, but Doss was able to will himself to the victory.

“It feels like redemption after what happened last year, so I’m very excited”, Doss told the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series. “Something broke in the rear end and I was hoping I could hold off the 27 (Gracin Raz), but he was able to pass me with two to go. I knew if I could get a good run out of four coming to the white flag, I would be able to pass him back going into one, so that is what I did and luckily I was able to hold him off to the checkered.”

Part-time SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series competitors LinnyWhite finished fourth, with Tyler Fabozzi registering a ninth, Chris Clyne 15th, Kayli Barker 18th, and Brandon White 20th. SRL Rookie-of-the-Year candidate Kyle Neveau finished in the 14th position.

Doss’ next event will be next weekend’s October Classic, at Kern County Raceway, where he will race for an additional $7,000, in the “Bulwark FR 175 presented by Coleman Powersports” thanks to the Winner’s Bonus supplied by FLUIDYNE High Performance and AKM Maintenance. He will then return to the Bullring, for the SRL’s “Retro Custom Metals Season Finale presented by Pinnacle Peak Steakhouse San Dimas” and another shot at $10,000.
