Carlos E. Vieira has continued his improvement in 2018, currently sitting fifth in the Spears Srl Southwest Tour Series Standings, after race number three of the nine event schedule. Vieira started off the SRL Championship season with consecutive sixth place finishes at Madera Speedway and then Kern County Raceway. He finished 11th at the most recent event at the Bullring @ Las Vegas Motor Speedway to sit only five points out of third.

Vieira has become a fixture on the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series, in his 51 FIFTY Energy Drink, Allied Packaging, Race for Autism Toyota. He now has 81 career starts, and 35 career Top 10 finishes, to rank in a tie for 12th all-time. 11 of those Top 10 finishes have come since 2016 with six of those Top 5 efforts. His best career result was a second at Kern County Raceway in October of 2016.

Vieira opened the Pacific Challenge Series with a victory at Madera, for the second consecutive season, to show that he is ready for his first big win in the SRL. It is a season that has gone pretty well so far, for the Livingston, CA driver, as the series heads to the Irwindale Event Center on June 9th.

“The season is going well”, Vieira told the SPEARS Southwest Tour. “The 51FIFTY Energy Drink Toyota ran well in the first couple of races, with a couple of sixth place finishes. The last race in Vegas didn’t go as well, due to some mechanical issues, but we still ended up 11th.

Vieira continued, “We are really looking forward to Irwindale. It’s a big track, with a lot of room, which allows for some great racing. With the great car count that the SRL has been having, I expect it is going to be a fun night. Mike Keen and the entire Campbell Motorsports Team has, and continues to work hard, to provide me with a great race car. I feel confident each and every time I show up to the track. I know better finishes, and a “W”, are just around the corner.”

Vieira will look for his Top 5 finish, at the Irwindale Event Center, in the “SPEARS Manufacturing 100 presented by Coleman Powersports“. He had a career best sixth in 2016, to go along with two more Top 10 finishes, in the last several years. If Vieira continues his ascension in the series, a win will not be far off for the personable Brazilian born racer.
