Dylan Lupton Seeks First “All-Star Showdown 200” Victory at Irwindale Speedway

 
Bakersfield, CA – Part-time NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver Dylan Lupton will make his third start in the Spears Srl Southwest Tour Series $25,000-to-win “All-Star Showdown 200” at Irwindale Speedway on February 5th. Although he calls Elk Grove, CA his hometown, he considers Irwindale Speedway his home track, finishing third in the NASCAR Advanced Auto Parts Weekly Racing Series in 2011 in his Late Model. He won a championship in the S2 Sportsman Division in 2010.
Irwindale has been Lupton’s favorite track on the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series schedule, competing at the ½-mile facility in six of his 15 career series starts. Of those, he has three top-five finishes, including a best of third. He set the SRL Track Record at the opening event in 2019. He has been a part-time competitor in the SRL over the last three seasons. He has five top-five, and six top-10 finishes in those starts. His best finish was a second at Kern County Raceway Park in 2020.
Lupton counts 33 ARCA Menards Pro Series West starts with full seasons in 2013 and 2014. He finished as the championship runner-up in the latter, with two career victories. His Camping World Truck Series stats include 14 starts with a best finish of fifth at Kentucky Speedway. His NASCAR Xfinity resume includes 39 starts with a best finish of ninth at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. In 2016 he made four starts in the NASCAR Cup Series.
Lupton will lean on his experience at Irwindale, his experience with his Super Late Model, and on his NASCAR Touring Series knowledge, aiming to score the biggest win of his career. He hopes to do it in his family owned Lupton Excavation Chevy.
The “All-Star Showdown 200” will take place on February 5th at Irwindale Speedway. It will kick off the 22nd season for the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour and the second for the SPEARS Pro Late Models presented by Sigma Performance Services. The Spears Modified Series will take part in their second event of the season, after Jaron Giannini won the opener at Havasu 95 Speedway. The Super Late Models will race for $25,000-to-win. The Pro Late Models will compete for $10,000-to-win and the SPEARS Modified Series will shoot for $5,000. Qualifying for all three divisions will commence at 2:00pm. 44 Super Late Models appeared in 2021 with 38 Pro Late Models and 22 Modifieds answering the call.
