Eric Schmidt to Defend Home Turf in Wild West Shootout

Bakersfield, CA – 2006 Spears SRL Southwest Tour Series champion Eric Schmidt will look to defend his home turf, when the SRL returns to ALL AMERICAN SPEEDWAY – ROSEVILLE CA for the first time in two years. Schmidt was a Super Late Model winner at the 1/3-mile in 2023, when he grabbed a Wild West Super Series presented by JM Environmental victory, finishing second in the championship. On March 23rd, Schmidt will seek to repeat that victory in the “JM Environmental Wild West Shootout Rock the House 127”. The season opener for both the Spears SRL Southwest Tour Series and All American Speedway will pay $10,000 to the winner.
Schmidt is a five-time winner in the SRL as well as a three-time pole winner. He has a championship in the Pacific Challenge Series to go along with eight victories. He has track championships at both All American Speedway and The New Stockton 99 Speedway. He is a Super Late Model winner in the Fall Spectacular at Redwood Acres Raceway and four-time winner of the Win River 125 at Shasta Speedway. He has three wins in the North State Challenge Series in only five starts.
Despite ten top-five finishes encompassing the ARCA Menards Pro Series West, Pacific Challenge Series, and the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour, he has yet to grab a touring series victory at the fairground’s facility. In the SRL, he has two top-five finishes and three top-10’s in five starts. That includes a fifth the last time the series visited in 2022. Schmidt will seek to remedy his winless streak at his home track and bring home $10,000.
The Spears SRL Southwest Tour Series will open their 24th season on March 23rd at All American Speedway, in the $10,000-to-win “JM Environmental Wild West Shootout Rock the House 127”. It will be the fourth time the series has opened its’ season on the one-third mile and the 14th visit overall.
Celebrating its twenty fourth season in 2024, the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series is a regional stock car series competing on paved ovals in the southwestern portion of the U.S. “The SPEARS Southwest Tour Series…Where the Champions Race”.
