HITE’S THIRD START IN SRL

HITE’S THIRD START IN SRL

Mike Hite is the seventh rookie, currently expected for Round #4 of the Spears Srl Southwest Tour Series at Madera Speedway on June 8th. The “SPEARS Southwest Tour 125 presented by 51 FIFTY LTMwill pay $5,000 to the winner, thanks to the “Winner’s Bonus” sponsored by MPI – Max Papis Innovations and Tilton Engineering.

This will be Hite’s third start in the SRL. His first event, of 2019, was the “JM ENVIRONMENTAL, INC. 127 presented by 51 FIFTY LTM” at ALL AMERICAN SPEEDWAY – ROSEVILLE CA on April 13th. Hite finished 16th in the 25-car field, after having to overcome mechanical issues in practice on race-day.

“The effort was there, we ran over 100 laps in Friday practice searching for speed”, Hite told the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series. “Then on Saturday we broke the rear end. Rebuilding the car for the Main Event shows the shears of the this team. We were headed forward till we lost the bumper cover and spoiler, then it was just finish the laps. With the competition in the SRL, you have to be perfect in every aspect to truly run up front.”

The Elk Grove, CA driver was a veteran of the Pacific Challenge Series from 2014 to last season. He finished sixth in the championship standings in 2015, his only full season in the series. Hite accumulated three top-five and 12 top-10 finishes in those five seasons.

Of those starts, seven of them were at Madera Speedway, but only one of those was a top-10 finish (8th in 2017). Hite acknowledges that Madera has been one of his most challenging tracks, as far as results are concerned. But he still enjoys racing at the facility. As a result, Hite would just like to finish the event in the top-10.

“My goals for Madera are a top-10 finish”, Hite stated. “Madera has been my most difficult track. My last three races there ended in hard crashes. Madera is a fun first class facility, however. Kenny Shepherdand his crew, put in a ton of work to make it an awesome place to race.”

Like with most racers, his efforts wouldn’t be possible without the help of his sponsors and crew.

“I would like to thank Stor-4-Less Rv Storage, Pimentel Freight LinesSacramento Mobile Hitch, Xtreme Auto Acc. and my entire crew.”

The fourth championship event on the season will be broadcast nationally on MAVTV, at a date to be announced later. The SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series will be joined by the Spears Modified Series, the Legends of the Kearney Bowl and the Madera Speedway Street Stocks, for an action packed evening.
