Hollywood Dan Holtz Making Rare Trip to All American Speedway for a Shot at $10,000

Bakersfield, CA – “Hollywood” Dan Holtz will make a rare appearance at a Spears Srl Southwest Tour Series event on a track less than a 3/8-mile, as he chases a $10,000 victory in the “JM Environmental Inc. Wild West Shootout Back in Business 127” at ALL AMERICAN SPEEDWAY – ROSEVILLE CA on March 5th. The 60-year-old racer is showing little signs of slowing down, as he is coming off a strong sixth-place run at the “All-Star Showdown 200” at Irwindale Speedway, which follows up a victory at the LVMS Bullring and Dirt Track in the Fall Open Comp for Super Late Models. He completed the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series 2021 season with a third-place run at the October Classic at Kern County Raceway Park. He will look to continue his momentum next weekend.
Holtz is a former two-time Super Late Model Track Champion at Mesa Marin Raceway, and one of only nine drivers to have won in both the NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Tour (NFSWT) and the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series. Holtz turned that trick in the NFSWT at Mesa Marin Raceway in 2003, when he finished fifth in the championship, his only full-time effort. He won in the SRL at Tucson Speedway. in 2016. His only full-time effort in the SRL found him 12th in 2007.
Holtz has accumulated 42 starts in SRL competition, scoring one victory, nine top-five and 19 top-10 finishes. His recent participation has been limited as two hard crashes shortened his time behind the wheel in recent seasons. But Holtz is itchy to get back behind the wheel, at a track he finished second at in his only start. That was back in 2010, finishing behind three-time ARCA Menards Pro Series West Champion Eric Holmes.
“I am looking forward to another great visit to Roseville”, the Pacific Palisades driver stated. “Normally I try to skip the real small tracks, and focus primarily on the bigger tracks as you know. I like lots of speed, so it’s hard to get my fix at these little tracks, but I love racing so much it’s just been too hard sitting around waiting between events. We were so close to winning the last time I was at Roseville, so I want to make sure we close the deal this time.”
Holtz is sponsored by the Beverly Hills Rejuvenation Center and Concrete Motorsports.
