HOLTZ RETURNS

HOLTZ RETURNS

Dan Holtz will make his first start of the 2019 Spears Srl Southwest Tour Championship season, as the series heads to the Bullring @ Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the “$10,000 to Win Retro Custom Metals 150” on May 4th. Holtz made six SRL starts in 2018, accumulating three top-ten efforts, in his former Jim Pettit II perimeter chassis car. It is a car that Holtz will relegate to the back of the shop, while introducing his new ride at the Las Vegas 3/8th mile “D” shaped paved oval.

“With the recent rule changes, I decided it was time to get into a new chassis”, Holtz told the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series. “Willie Allen, Mike Dunkleberger, and Rip Michels put together a great combination, with a Hamke Race Cars & Parts Inc Sidewinder chassis and a Brad Peters’ engine. It took us some time to get it ready, but we are going to be finished in time for Vegas. I’m looking forward to getting back in the car with this great combination.”

Holtz is a former Super Late Model Track Champion at Mesa Marin Raceway, and one of only nine drivers to have won in both the NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Tour (NFSWT) and the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series. Holtz turned that trick in the NFSWT at Mesa Marin Raceway in 2003, when he finished fifth in the championship, his only full-time effort. He won in the SRL at Tucson Speedway in 2016.

“Hollywood” Dan Holtz will bring his new Beverly Hills Rejuvenation Center Ford to the Bullring, where he has a best finish of third, in five career SRL starts. The “Retro Custom Metals 150” will be race number three of the 2019 SRL season. For Holtz, he hopes it will be worth $10,000, and a photo opportunity with “Homie” David Nava Mulcahy.
