MAVTV to Televise the Inaugural Winter Showdown

 

Bakersfield, CA – In a break out agreement, MAVTV and Lucas Oil Productions will be on hand to nationally televise the “Winter Showdown” from Kern County Raceway Park in Bakersfield, California.

 

The $125,000.00 Winter Showdown for Super Late Models/Tour Cars will be one of the nation’s richest Late Model events in 2015, with 55 teams already entered in the February 27th and 28th event. The two-day event will also feature the Lucas Oil Modified Series, which MAVTV will also televise.

 

“We’re happy to have the opportunity to be part of the Winter Showdown and showcase this great event on MAVTV,” stated MAVTV Director of Programming, Jason Patison. “We’ve seen the entry list and this is a true national event with top drivers from throughout the country.”

 

The Winter Showdown will be air on a taped delayed basis, with the airdates of the “Winter Showdown 250” and the Lucas Oil Modified event to be announced at a later date.

 

“The Winter Showdown has already exceeded our expectations,” stated the SRL’s Larry Collins, the director of the Winter Showdown. “The addition of MAVTV’s coverage of the event takes it to an even higher level and we can’t thank Jason Patison and everyone at MAVTV for shinning the national spotlight on this race.”

The Winter Showdown will open its gates on Wednesday, February 25th for the Super Late Model/Tour teams to park their rigs and tech inspection will begin. Thursday, the 26th the cars will hit the track for the first time for a 4½ hour practice session. On Friday, February 27th, the spectator gates will swing open to officially open the Winter Showdown. The Friday night program will feature the Lucas Oil Modifieds Race of Champions Dash for Cash, the SRL S2 Series 50 lap main event, and the Winter Showdown Super Late Model/Tour cars competing in the “50-lap Twins” qualifying races to set the line up for Saturday’s “Winter Showdown 250”. Race day, Saturday the 28th will feature a full program of the Lucas Oil Modifieds featuring a b-main and 75 lap feature, with the Winter Showdown LCQ and the “Winter Showdown 250”.
