Motor City Buick GMC Takes Throwdown Challenge to the Next Level

After a successful announcement last week with the Motor City Throwdown Challenge, longtime series sponsor, Motor City Buick GMC (Bakersfield) has upped the ante.  The Motor City Throwdown Challenge will now increase after each of the remaining races in the 2021 schedule from the original $2,500 bonus.  The bonus rolls over after each race and if a driver wins a race (other than Derek Thorn), the bonus is paid and the challenge is over.  Here’s how the bonus looks for the following SPEARS Southwest Tour Series races:

  • $2,750 for any driver that wins other than Derek Thorn for the August 14th race at Stockton Speedway
  • $3,000 for any driver that wins other than Derek Thorn for the September 18th race at All American Speedway
  • $3,500 for any driver that wins other than Derek Thorn for the October 23rd race at Kern County Raceway
  • If Derek Thorn can run the table and win out the remaining 3 races, he’ll pocket the $3,500 bonus

Next race for the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series is August 14th at Stockton Speedway with Round #3 of the JM Environmental Wild West Shootout.  Thank you, Motor City Buick GMC and John Pitre and their support of the Motor City Throwdown Challenge, and the added incentive for the 2021 season.
