New Season Brings New Partnership

Bakersfield, CA – The SPEARS Southwest Tour Seriesand Traffic Management, Inc. (TMI)are proud to jointly announce a new partnership for the 2019 race season.  

The kickoff off to this new partnership will begin at the Fifth Annual Winter Showdown on February 1-2, at Kern Country Raceway.  TMI will serve as the title sponsor of “Winter Showdown Qualifying”, billed as the “Winter Showdown Qualifying Controlled by Traffic Management, Inc.”.  The Winter Showdown qualifying (Friday, February 1) is one of the most exciting events of the weekend, as the top Super Late Model drivers from around the nation attempt to lock themselves into the “Winter Showdown 300”.

“Partnering with companies like TMI is great for not only our series, but for short track racing as a whole.”  commented the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series’ Brian Olsen.  “We are very grateful that TMI chose the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series to bring awareness to their ever-growing company while exploring new ways to entertain their customers and employees.”  

TMI is a privately-owned minority business, based in Southern California, co-owned by brothers Chris and Jonathan Spano. The company started with very humble beginnings in 1995 out of the garage of their great grandmother. Today, nearly 25 years later, TMI is one of the largest organically grown traffic management companies in the United States.  TMI’scomplete knowledge of traffic control management is integral to the daily flow of the lives of commuters. Its engineers design traffic plans that result in lane closures due to road repairs, large events and infrastructure projects.

TMI will be highlighted during each ‘Caution Period’ (Yellow Flag) throughout the race season, as each ‘Caution Period’ in 2019 will be referenced as the “Traffic Management Inc. – Serious About SafetyCaution”.

In addition to the Winter Showdown, TMI will proudly serve as the presenting sponsor of two SPEARS Southwest Tour Series races in 2019, along with hosting hundreds of customers and employees throughout the ’19 season.
