Newberry Returns to his Roots at PPIR

KERNERSVILLE, NC (September 18, 2014) Brennan Newberry, who has competed in the NASCAR K&N East Series, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, ARCA and NASCAR Nationwide Series over the past three seasons, is returning to his roots. A longtime familiar face in the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series with 37 career starts, Newberry will be making his return to the series on September 28th, when the series stops at Pikes Peak International Raceway (PPIR) for the “Spears Manufacturing – Colorado 100”.

Newberry’s last start in the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series was 2012, when he piloted the #29 NTS Motorsports Chevrolet. For the Pikes Peak race, Newberry will carry the colors of his current sponsor, Qore-24, with 09 on the door, his car number as an SRL rookie.

“I miss the SRL and all the great people who I’ve met there over the years,” stated Newberry. “I’m looking forward to Pikes Peak and running the Qore-24 colors with my old number, 09, that I started my career with.”

Newberry will team up with crew chief Jeff Jefferson and be part of a three-team effort for NTS Motorsports, with drivers Greg Voigt and Garret Archer. Voigt, the defending Colorado 100 race winner, is coming off a win at Irwindale Speedway on August 16th, while Archer is leading the 2014 Rookie of the Year standings.

“It’s going to be great to be back at an SRL race,” stated NTS Motorsports owner, Bob Newberry. “Our schedule has been so crazy over the past couple of seasons that we haven’t been able to get to any (SRL) races. Gary (Collins) and the whole team have been doing a great job for us this year, so we’re looking forward to going to Pikes Peak and catching up with our friends in the SRL.”

The Pikes Peak weekend will be a busy one for Brennan Newberry, as he will start his weekend competing in the NASCAR K&N East Series season finale at Dover International Speedway on Friday, before traveling west to Colorado Springs, Colorado for the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series “Colorado 100”.
