For Immediate Release: SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series

Event: The “SPEARS Manufacturing 100 presented by Earnest Performance” is the third of 10 events on the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series schedule in 2021. It will take place this weekend, April 10th at Irwindale Speedway. Round #3 will pay $5,000 to the winner thanks to the “Winner’s Bonus” from Earnest Performance. It will be the second of three events at the Irwindale Speedway ½-mile oval, after the season opening “Sunrise Ford All-Star Showdown 200”. The final of those three events will take place on July 17th.

Another Big Field: 30 Super Late Models are currently entered for this weekend’s action. The first two events of the season saw an average car count of 35.5 Super Late Models.

Fans, Fans, Fans: For the first time since Covid-19 hit, fans will be allowed at Irwindale Speedway.

First Timers: Four drivers will make their 2021 season debuts in the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour. Mark Neff, Sean Woodside, Trevor Huddleston, and Ross Strmiska are those drivers. Sean Woodside will make his series debut after scoring two victories in the NASCAR Southwest Tour.

Series Regulars: 23 drivers have attended the first two events of the season. 21 of those drivers are on the entry list for the “SPEARS Manufacturing 100 presented by Earnest Performance”.

Top-10: Preston Peltier leads the current championship standings with 340 points. He is followed by Buddy Shepherd, Jacob Gomes, Cale Kanke, Jace Hansen, Christian McGhee, Derek Thorn, Kole Raz, Kyle Neveau and Dylan Lupton.

Rookies: Eight rookies are entered in this weekend’s event, they include Bruce Bezanson, Cole Raz, Buddy Shepherd, Brandon Farrington, Mark Neff, Corey Neveau, Austin Thom and Dylan Garner. The current Rookie-of-the-Year Standings find Buddy Shepherd leading Kole Raz, Brandon Farrington, Corey Neveau and Dylan Garner.

All Star Showdown: Preston Peltier won the season opening All-Star Showdown worth $30,000. He was followed by Casey Roderick, Jace Hansen, Buddy Shepherd and Jacob Gomes. It was Peltier’s second season opening victory at Irwindale, which accounts for both of his series wins.

Irwindale Speedway: This will be the nineteenth SRL event held at Irwindale Speedway. Derek Thorn has five SRL victories at the facility to lead all drivers. Overall, M.K. Kanke has three SRL victories and three  NASCAR Southwest Tour Series wins, for six overall.

SRL S2 Series Dominator: SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series rookie Dylan Garner has three SRL S2 Series victories at Irwindale Speedway. 

Livestream: All 2021 SPEARS Southwest Tour Series, SPEARS Manufacturing Modified Series and SPEARS Pro Late Model Series races will be Livestreamed at www.SPEARSRacing.TV. Tommy Mason and Jeffery Best, with Low Budget TV (LBTV), will cover the action from Irwindale.

MAVTV:  All 2021  races for the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series, SPEARS Manufacturing Modified Series, and SPEARS Pro Late Model Series events will also be carried on MAVTV on a delayed basis.  Broadcast times will be announced at a later date.

Schedule: Saturday’s action will begin at 10:30 am for the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series Super Late Models, with a 45-minute practice session. Qualifying will begin at 1:25 pm (PST) with the SPEARS Pro Late Models Series presented by Sigma Performance Services up first, on the inner 1/3-mile. The SPEARS Modified Series is scheduled for 1:45 pm, with the Super Late Models at 2:05 pm. Spectator Gates open at 2:00 pm with Opening Ceremonies set for 3:00 pm. The Irwindale Speedway local divisions will also be on the card, making it a jammed packed evening of excitement at LA’s immaculate ½-mile oval.

Main Events kick off at 3:15 pm, with the LKQ Pick Your Parts Pro Late Models first on the card, for the local divisions. The SPEARS Modifieds will run 75 laps as well as the SPEARS Pro Late Model Division. The SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series Super Late Models will be on track for 100 laps. Other local divisions include the Tucker Tire Enduros, Street Stocks, INEX Legends and the YouRaceLA Spec Racers.65

Celebrating its twentieth season in 2020, the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series is a regional stock car series competing on paved ovals in the southwestern portion of the U.S. “The SPEARS Southwest Tour Series…Where the Champions Race”.
