Parker Jr. Looks to Defend His Home Turf

One driver, who will be representing the home team at the LVMS Bullring in the “Retro Custom Metals 137”, is Jimmy Parker Jr. Parker will be making only his second start in the Spears Srl Southwest Tour Series, after finishing 22nd at the SRL finale at the Bullring in 2017. Prior to that, Parker had spent a good deal of time out of the seat, but returned to the Super Late Model wars at the Bullring in 2018, winning the track championship. He returned in 2019 winning the “Night of Fire” at the Bullring. His abbreviated 2020 season saw Parker winning at Irwindale Speedway in his Super Late Model just a few weeks ago, after setting Fast Time. His only other start netted a runner-up finish to Dylan Lupton, after also setting fast time, also at Irwindale.

With the momentum of his recent race win, Parker will roll into the Bullring looking to continue that success. He knows he will be facing a large field of Super Late Model racers with the SRL, but he is looking forward to competing against the talent the series possess.

“I’m very excited to run the Vegas SRL race”, Parker exclaimed! “It’s where some of the best drivers race on the West Coast and the series is ran professionally!”

As a 29-time winner at the Bullring, of which eight were in a Super Late Model, Parker will be tough on November 21st. He will be bringing a car that is relatively new to the team. The Super Late Model has only competed in those two events at Irwindale Speedway, with Parker behind the wheel. But he will be looking to continue his recent success in his Senneker Performance car.

“The car that I’ll be privileged to drive is a 2019 Senneker Performance Super Late Model, powered by McGunegill Engine Performance. We’ve raced the car twice so far, and it has two Pole Positions and a Feature Event finish of first and second.

Parker is grateful to be back behind the wheel and thankful for those who made it possible, as he stated.

“I’d really like to thank my partners NAC Electric, Desert Promotions, CSM Graphics and Red Lion Global Enterprises for all their continued support. I’d also like to thank my team for all their hard work and helping me do what I love to do!!!”

The “Retro Custom Metals 137” will be run on November 21st, with $10,000 going to the winner thanks to David Nava Mulcahy (Homie). The Spears Modified Series will join the SRL in the event, for the OPTIMA Batteries 75 presented by FAST – Fuel Air Spark Technology”. Practice will occur on Friday the 20th, with three sessions for the Super Late Models, beginning at 3:45 pm (PST) and ending at 7:30 pm. Saturday will find the Super Late Models practicing from 12:15 pm to 1:00 pm. Qualifying is scheduled for 3:15 pm. The Last Chance Qualifier (if needed) will follow, with feature events rolling off thereafter. There will be a halfway break on lap 68 for the SRL Super Late Models.
