RAUDMAN’S “FAREWELL TOUR” CONTINUES

RAUDMAN’S “FAREWELL TOUR” CONTINUES

There will be a plethora of rookie contenders, at the “SPEARS Southwest Tour 125 presented by 51 FIFTY LTM.”, at Madera Speedway, but they will be met by a host of series veterans hungry for victory on the “Fastest One-Third Mile on the West Coast”. One of those hungry veterans is Craig Raudman, who will be looking for the $5,000 victory on June 8th, thanks to the “Winner’s Bonus” by MPI – Max Papis Innovations, and Tilton Engineering. The 2001 NASCAR Southwest Tour Series Champion is on his “Farewell Tour” in 2019, and is looking to go out on top, after a fantastic career behind the wheel.

The Dave Reed Racing Racing] driver will be heading to one of his favorite tracks on the circuit. Raudman has a NASCAR Southwest Tour Series victory at Madera Speedway, and has three top-five finishes in his last four SRL starts. That includes second and third place finishes. His only non-top-five was a DNF in an event in which he set Fast Time, but failed a post-qualifying fuel check. He started shot-gun on the field, but was involved in an incident, just before breaking into the top-ten, in the 27-car field.

“Madera is an awesome short track”, Raudman told the Spears Srl Southwest Tour Series. “I really like the place because of the two grooves. Where racing at a track, that actually has several grooves, it allows for some exciting racing, because you can pass there. I find that, especially at Madera, you can move around and alter or change your line, to fit how your car might be handling that night. You just don’t see that at other tracks. I can’t wait to get there.”

Raudman currently finds himself ninth in the championship standings, after a flat tire at the previous event in Las Vegas, derailed a potential top-five run. Raudman started the season strong at Irwindale Speedway with a third place finish, and will look to rebound to that form at Madera. The 17-time Southwest Tour Series winner will certainly make his presence known. Ask anyone who knows Raudman’s determination, and they will tell you “don’t count the black Approved Memory #2 out of any event”. That is especially true at Madera.

Raudman and Dave Reed are supported by 25-year sponsors: Approved Memory, Ringers Gloves, Peters Racing Engines and FLUIDYNE High Performance. Their 15 plus year sponsors include Lucas Oil, K&N Filters, Eibach, JDA Enterprises Inc, BRE, Coleman Powersports and Bubba’s Rear Ends.

On June 8th, the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series will run 125 laps in the “SPEARS Southwest Tour 125 presented by 51 FIFTY LTM”. They will be joined by the Spears Modified Series presented by Lucas Oil, the Legends of the Kearney Bowl, and the Madera Speedway Hobby Stocks. The Event will be televised nationally on MAVTV, at a date to be announced later.

If you are in the area, make sure to come out and see the 2016 inductee to the Northern California Motorsports Hall of Fame, participate for one of the last times at Madera Speedway.

Celebrating its nineteenth season in 2019, the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series is a regional stock car series competing on paved ovals in the southwestern portion of the U.S. “The SPEARS Southwest Tour Series..…Where the Champions Race”.
