RIDDICK JOINS COLLINS MOTORSPORTS FOR PRO LATE MODEL DEBUT AT KERN COUNTY RACEWAY

SELLERSBURG, INDIANA (Dec. 18, 2020) – Fifteen-year-old Jordon Riddick will take the next step in his racing career this weekend as he makes his Pro Late Model debut at Kern County Raceway in Bakersfield, California. The Sellersburg, Indiana native will be behind the wheel of a Collins Motorsports entry as he competes in the SRL Southwest Tour season finale on Saturday afternoon.

Riddick will be in good hands as he takes on the half-mile track of Kern County Raceway to compete in the highly competitive SRL Southwest Tour for the first time in his young career. Collins Motorsports, stationed in Bakersfield, California, is owned by former NASCAR driver Gary Collins and has a long proven history of success. The rookie driver will also be receiving guidance from Cole Williams Racing throughout the weekend. Riddick looks to use this opportunity as a stepping stone to prepare for the 2021 season back east.

“I’m looking forward to racing the Collins Motorsports Pro Late Model this weekend,” said Riddick. “This will be the biggest track that I’ve raced on so far. I’ve been leaning on Terry Williams in preparation for Saturday’s race and will continue getting advice from him all weekend, as well as Gary Collins and my team. There are a lot of differences between the bigger tracks like Kern County and the tracks that I’m used to running back home. I hope this opportunity helps prepare me for next season and gets me ready for what is to come with the competition back east.”

Riddick most recently competed in the Victory Custom Trailers CRA Junior Late Model Series, where he drove for ARCA Menards Series winning crew chief Bill Kimmel, and his son Will Kimmel. Despite facing many challenges in an unorthodox season shortened by the COVID-19 pandemic, the young driver was still able to collect two victories in just five races. Both of Riddick’s wins occurred at Anderson (Ind.) Speedway and helped propel him to a runner-up finish in the Rookie Point Standings at the end of the season.

The FAST 110 Presented by COMP Cams will be streamed live on SpearsRacing.TV on Saturday, Dec. 19, with coverage beginning at 5:45 p.m., ET.
