Rocha Seeks Third Career SRL Victory in the $10,000-to-Win Winter Showdown

 
Bakersfield, CA – After participating in the last 14 Spears Srl Southwest Tour Series events, Blaine Rocha missed the “JM Environmental Inc. Wild West Shootout” at ALL AMERICAN SPEEDWAY – ROSEVILLE CA due to a scheduling conflict. Rocha will be back in action however, when the series heads to Kern County Raceway Park for the 7th Annual “Winter Showdown” on April 2nd. Rocha is a former winner at the facility, scoring the win in 2017. In 20 SRL starts at the Kern, he has four top-five and 10 top-10’s. Those include five previous “Winter Showdown” starts with a best finish of fourth in the inaugural event.
Rocha was sixth in the championship standings in 2021, but had a best effort of third in 2017. He was also top-five in 2016 and sixth in 2015. Rocha is coming off a trip to the Southern Super Series “Rattler 250” at South Alabama Speedway. Rocha qualified second, but experienced handling issues, resulting in a 15th-place finish.
Rocha will seek his third SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series career victory, and his 20th career top-five in this year’s edition of the Winter Showdown. It will be his 68th career start, which will tie him with Dave Byrd for 10th on the all-time series list.
Rocha is supported by Strmiska Racing, Masellis Drilling, Rocha’s Valley Enterprises, HCI Docks, and W.A.R. Shocks. He would additionally like to thank Crew Chief Duane Sharp and his entire family for making his racing possible.
The Seventh Annual “Winter Showdown” at Kern County Raceway Park will take place on April 2nd and pay $10,000 to the winner of the 100-lap event. The SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series will be joined by the SPEARS Pro Late Models presented by Sigma Performance Services and the Spears Modified Series. Admission gates will open at 4:00pm with Qualifying for all three divisions beginning at 4:15pm. Opening Ceremonies and a Truck Parade roll off at 5:30pm. Qualifying Heat Races start the official racing action at 6:00pm. All three divisions will compete in the Heat Races. 60 lap Feature Events for the Modifieds and Pro Late Models will be followed by 100 laps for the Super Late Models.
