Ross Strmiska Finishes Second in Front of Full House

Manteca, CA – Ross Strmiska and his Mainline Equipment/Jack Tone Vineyards Team finished second last Saturday night in the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series 125 lap event in front of a near sell out crowd at Redwood Acres Raceway in Eureka.

Strmiska, the third generation driver from Manteca, CA started outside the front row after a solid qualifying effort, and never fell farther back than third before scoring his best finish of the 2013 season.

“The car has been good all year.  We’ve finished fourth, third and now second the last three races, so if we stay on course we should win Madera,” Strmiska said from the Redwood Acres Raceway winner’s circle. “On the final restart I got ahead of him (eventual winner Jim Pettit) but he had the inside going into turn three and got back by us.  It’s always fun to run up front and contend for the win, this is a great place to race and I hope we come back next year.”

Strmiska is now second in the 2013 SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series championship standings as the team prepares to return to Madera Speedway on June 29th for the annual Fireworks Spectacular and “The Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Central California 125 presented by AmeriPride”.

“Madera’s one of my favorite tracks, we’ve had success there in our Late Model, and we’ve ran good with our ‘tour car’, so it should be another good weekend for us.”  Strmiska added.
