Continuing the top ten countdown in the Spears Srl Southwest Tour Series Standings, we now enter the top five, with fifth place Carlos E. Vieira. The Rio DeJaneiro, Brazil born driver bettered his seventh place championship standing in 2016 by two, and tied his best series finish. Vieira scored a career best four top five efforts, and added another top ten, in his nine series starts. He scored his season’s best third place SRL finish at the “Retro Custom Metals 150″ at Rocky Mountain Raceway, in the combination race with the Northwest Super Late Model Series. Carlos also added a Pacific Challenge Series victory at Madera Speedway, in his first series start.

As well as the season went, for the 51 FIFTY Energy Drink, Race for Autism, Allied Packaging, Byron Campbell Motorsports Team in 2017, Vieira feels there is more to accomplish in 2018.

“2017 was another year of growth for me”, Vieira told the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series. “I had my first tour car win, and some other great finishes. I will be continuing my relationship with Campbell Motorsports, and am looking forward to adding more wins to my resume in 2018. I have a great group of guys on my team, and I feel confident that 2018 will be a great season! Live The Madness!”

The personable Vieira has become a veteran of the series, and his 51FIFTY Energy Drink Chevy has become one of the most recognizable rides on the West Coast. The Livingston, CA racer will make his 79th career start, at the season opening event at Madera Speedway on March 24th. He will be searching for top ten finish number 32, and his first victory on the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series.
