The Naake – Klauer Motorsports Team will be back at full strength, when they pull into Kern County Raceway on October 24th & 25th for the Spears Srl Southwest Tour Series JM ENVIRONMENTAL, INC. Wild West Shootout Round #3 – Boogie Man 127 presented by KHI Management Inc.”. The event is a part of the 31st edition of the October Classic, which will also feature the Spears Modified Series, ARCA Menards Pro Series West, Sigma Engineering Services Pro Late Models, and the Kern County Raceway Super Stocks.

Bobby Hodges will be back in his familiar #89 Super Late Model, after running a limited schedule in 2020, due to his workload. The 2016 Speed51.com Most Popular Driver Award Winner will be looking for his third SRL victory, and his first at Kern County Raceway. Hodges has four top-10 finishes in his last six starts at Kern, two of which were top-five’s. His worst of those was in the October Classic in 2019, when he finished 14th. Hodges nearly scored a victory in October of 2015, finishing second to Derek Thorn at the high-speed half mile. The Carson City, NV driver will be making series start number 57, tying him for 13th on the all-time list with Craig Raudman. He has 14 top-five’s and 29 top-10’s in his 56 starts. The former Bob Elliff Award winner is sponsored by NATC and Break-A-Heart LLC.

Joey Iest Racing is the second member of the Naake-Klauer Motorsports Team making the trip to Bakersfield. Iest was the 2019 Madera Speedway Junior Late Model Champion. In two 2020 ARCA Menards Series West events, he has qualified no worse than third. He currently sits second in the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series Rookie-of-the-Year standings and 13th overall. Iest has a best finish of 11th in the series, that coming at Kern County Raceway last May. Iest is sponsored by Richmond Meats and The Ag Center at 59.

The “JM Environmental Inc. Wild West Shootout Round 3 – Boogie Man 127 presented by KHI Management Inc.” will be Round #7 of the nine-race SPEARS Southwest Tour Series schedule. The event will pay $5,027 to win. $1,000 will be paid out to the leader on lap 27 from JM Environmental. $500 will be paid at the halfway mark, thanks to Kendall Peters with AKM Maintenance. The Performance Friction Brakes Zero Drag Fast Time Award will also payout another $500 with help from JM Environmental. The SPEARS Southwest Tour Series will be joined by the Spears Modified Series, ARCA Menards Pro Series West, Sigma Performance Services Pro Late Models and Super Stocks, for a huge weekend of racing. The Pro Late Models and Super Stocks will compete on both Saturday and Sunday, with 60 and 40 lap features, respectively.

For those unable to attend, the event will be shown live at www.SpearsRacing.TV. The Spears Southwest Tour Series will be featured on the live broadcast, along with the Spears Modifieds, Pro Late Models and the Super Stocks. Saturday’s broadcast will begin at approximately 3:30 pm (PST) and capture the final practice sessions for the Spears Modifieds and Spears SRL Southwest Tour Series. The Street Stock and Sigma Performance Services Pro Late Model Features will follow. Sunday will capture the Spears SRL Southwest Tour, Spears Modified, Sigma Performance Services Pro Late Model and Street Stock Feature events.

The event will also be shown on MAVTV at a date to be announced later. It will be a part of the 2020 “Southwest Short Track Racing” series, which will air every other week on Sundays at 2:00 pm (PST).
