TWO TOP FIVES FOR STRMISKA RACING

Manteca, CA – Both Strmiska Racing entries of Ross Strmiska and Blaine Rocha, scored top five finishes in Saturday’s SPEARS Southwest Tour Series “51 FIFTY Energy Drink 125” at Madera Speedway.

Strmiska, in the pink Mainline Equipment/ Jack Tone Vineyards #90 Chevrolet finished second on Saturday, and Rocha was fifth in the red MasRoc Farms/Rocha’s Valley Enterprises #98.

Strmiska started fourth and moved towards the front at the drop of the green, running third by lap 13, into second on lap 41 and took over the lead on lap 46. Strmiska held the lead until lap 70, after a long and heated battle with Derek Thorn. Strmiska fought back to take the lead twice, but Thorn battled back. Thorn went on to win, with Strmiska second by just .8 seconds at the finish. It was Strmiska’s third straight second place SPEARS Southwest Tour Series finish at Madera.

“I love this place and it’s pretty much my home track,” Strmiska said. “We’ve always been good and fast here. We’ve had a lot of SRL races get away from us like the one tonight and three or four in the past and I feel like the Speedway owes me one. I’ve won a lot of Late Model races here but not an SRL one, so we’ll keep coming back until we get one.”
Rocha finished an impressive fifth, in just his second SPEARS Southwest Tour Series start. He started the race on the pole and held his own staying within the top five throughout most of the race. Rocha not only competed in the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series at Madera on Saturday night, but also competed in the Legends event and the open late model race.

“I’ll admit I’m pretty tired,” Rocha stated after finishing his third race of the night. “It was a fun, tough race, these guys in this series are so good. We had some issues with the car yesterday, but today the car was great and I can’t wait to get back in it for Stockton.”

Strmiska Racing is supported this season by; Jack Tone Vineyards, Mainline Equipment, MasRoc Farms, Rocha’s Valley Enterprises, Masellis Drilling, Naake Suspension, David’s Racing Products, Farmers Blacksmith and Welding, Schroeder Torsion bars, Tilbury Napa Auto Parts, Eibach Springs, Joes Racing Products, Mobil 1, Performance Signs & Graphics and Iron Mike Motorsports.
