“Unfinished business in Vegas”

Preston Peltier will bring his new Rowdy Manufacturing Super Late Model to the Bullring @ Las Vegas Motor Speedway on May 4th, for the “$10,000 to Win Retro Custom Metals 150″. The third round of the Spears Srl Southwest Tour Series will find a full field of talented Super Late Models in attendance, with Peltier looking to make it two in a row in SRL competition, after winning the season opener at Irwindale Speedway.

Peltier drove the “Rowdy” car to a third place finish in the Winter Showdown at Kern County Raceway in February. The car’s build is the result of a joint effort between two-time and reigning NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Champion Kyle Busch Manufacturing, and Hamke Race Cars & Parts Inc. The car was the first chassis built under the new partnership.

The 2013 “World Crown 300” winner anticipates the new Super Late Model will improve upon his only appearance at the “Bullring”, when he finished ninth in the 2015 “Senator’s Cup Open Comp 150” behind winner Linny White, Jeff Bischofberger and Jeremy Doss, who are all entered this weekend. Peltier would love to make up, for what he feels was a subpar performance, for the Brighton, CO driver.

“I have some unfinished business in Vegas”, Peltier told the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series. “I’ve been there once, and we brought a butter knife to a gun fight. This time we are coming out with guns blazing, in this new Rowdy car.

The two-time Summer Showdown (Evergreen Speedway) and five-time Easter Bunny 150 (Hickory Motor Speedway) winner knows the competition will be stiff. It will be an opportunity to see where the team’s short track program ranks, with some of the stiffest competition in the country.

“There is some really good competition in this series, and I know Derek Thorn and (Jeremy) Doss are really good there. Peltier explained. We want to see how our shorter track program stacks up against those guys, and this will be a good test of that.”

Peltier will be making the trek from Colorado to Las Vegas, with Saturday night’s Colorado National Speedway Modified winner Ed Vecchiarelli and his son Eddie Vecchiarelli. Both will be participating in the Spears Modified Series, in conjunction with Peltier’s Super Late Model effort. Peltier is thankful for the opportunity the Vecchiarelli’s have given him, as well as to his sponsors.

I’ve gotta thank my car owners the Vecchiarelli’s, Generator Source, Swift Springs, and Tilton Engineering for all the support, as we look forward to another exciting race.

On Saturday, May 4th, the Spectator Gates open at 5:00 pm, with Qualifying for the Junior Late Models, Bandoleros, SPEARS Modifieds, Legends and SPEARS Southwest Tour Series beginning at 5:15 pm. Open Ceremonies are scheduled for 6:45 pm followed by the Bandolero Features for the Bandits and Outlaws. The SPEARS Southwest Tour Series Last Chance Qualifying Race (as needed) is up next, with the Junior Late Model Feature ensuing. The “Retro Custom Metals 150” will then be on stage, with a fuel break at the lap 75 mark. The Legends Feature follows with the SPEARS Modified Feature rounding out the night’s action.

With $10,000 on the line, thanks to “Homie” David Nava Mulcahy, and Retro Custom Metals, the event is sure to be a barn burner.
